ARTStorm ART proposals for the 8th
We are less than two weeks away from ARTStorm at the Hui. At the Hui on November 8, 2008 we will dedicate an hour to new art proposals for this years festival (Feb 2009).
We are committed to supporting you in bringing your art idea to fruition by:
(1). Providing a platform for you to get inspiration and clarity on your vision
(2). Reaching people who may want to help you with time or materials
(3). Potentially reaching benefactors who may be able to help fund your project
If you are interested in presenting at the Hui, please provide by the end of the week:
(1). An outline of your 3-5 minute presentation.
(2). A brief 3-5 sentence summary of what your project is.
(3). At least 2 images of your proposed work. This can be images you draw– or can be images of work that is similar to what you are proposing. (use (google image search if you need it)
(4). Size of footprint (how big an area do you need)
(5). Materials we may be able to help you find.
(6). How others can get involved.
Optional:
(7). Budget
(8). Video
(9). Bio
Please email to me by Thursday or Friday Oct. 31.
I hope this structure doesn’t take out any of the fun and inspiring energy you had at the last gathering! If any of this seems daunting– please call me! I will help you with any digital issues you have (come up with images of your work, etc).

Everyone who sends me information will be included on the blog– increasing the exposure to your idea– hopefully getting you all the resources, ideas, people and maybe money that you need. At the Hui show, we will be handing out one page flyer that describes each proposed art project. If you do not want to present, but want to be included in the catalog and the blog, that is fine. Just let me know and be sure to email me this week with the above info.

I would like to have a spot on Sunday to speak about hosting (at your Feb event) V.A.R.I.O.U.S. Media Ink; The Maui Artists Showcase and Networking Event — an interactive community forum on the (state of the) arts. Art projected on a big screen becomes catalyst for group interaction and learning. Edutainment at its finest! A longstanding core technology for helping shift consciousness, facilitate networking and providing resources to creative people and those with low self esteem at Creativity Cafe Edutainment events.
Thanks for your interest Peter. We are hoping to have time at the end of the already scheduled presentations to open to the floor for new ideas. The allotted time will be short, but we’d love to hear about your projects.
